This build was kept mostly to original because it is just so nice as is. Everything was restored and updates were kept minimal.
Nice stable long wheel base. Front reach is long via that toptube. This bike is early enough in the timeline that the manic overfocused obsession with short rear-ends had not taken over yet. This is a classic.
Bullmoose handlebars are lovely to look at and lovely to ride (wide, lots of sweep back), and a nod to the great Tom Ritchey who invented the bullmoose in the 1970s.
Beautiful sparkly maroon paint is in great shape (Raleigh was still a proud apex beast of the bike world then so their paint jobs were solide). Looks like someone did an OK job touching up the paint as some point in the bike’s history. Bonus: color coordinated jockey pulley wheel!
