Both the seahawk bird and this seahawk bike were designed to dive into the water.

INQUIRE ABOUT THIS BIKE

This build is named for the seahawk, the bird that hunts by dropping straight out of the sky into the water for prizes, which is why the ospray is also known as the fish hawk. This one was build to dive and come back up, that is it floats via the big tires, foam tubing, and air tight bags (not pictured). And they we styled it a la the colors of the Seattle Seahawks.

Gary Fisher is one of the core OG mountain bike designers.

The Build

The goal of this build was to make a bike that is made for jumping into the water off docks. That means it has to be safe for the water environment (no oil slicks) and relatively safe for the rider (designed to have as few as possible sharp points (chainring guard, handlebar with no pointy ends, etc.).

The chain is waxed as is the rest of the drive train. This way where is no grease to create oil slicks when jumping this bike into the water, like a seahawk.
